Common English Bible at SBL

One of today's SBL highlights for me was being treated to a lovely lunch by the CEB translation. The photo shows David Petersen speaking at the luncheon. Later there was an excellent panel review of the CEB.

Panel Review of Leong Seow, Job Commentary

Just came from a seven-scholar review of Dr. Seow's initial volume in the new Illuminations series, which will emphasize the history of Scripture's "consequences." A very high powered session!

SBL 2011 Begins!

Early tomorrow morning I fly off to San Francisco for the 2011 Annual Meeting of the SBL. I hope to make several blog posts from the meetings here in this web-space. This year my main presentation is tomorrow (Friday) night, when a biblical colloquium discusses a draft of the first part of my current project of a Deuteronomy commentary.
