Duties of a son, from The Story of Aqhat: To erect a stele for his ancestral gods; to build a family shrine in the sanctuary; to guard his footsteps from earth to underworld; to take his hand when he is drunk; to put his arm over one's shoulder when he is full of wine; to eat a funeral meal in the temple of Ba'al; to offer a sacrifice in the house of El.

What fabulous news! After so many changes, departures and challenges it really is good to see someone as wonderful as Tim stepping in to such a key role. Hooray for the Holy Hill
De. Sedgwick will be great for this position, but what does this mean for ethics at VTS? Will he still be teaching that or will they be hiring a new ethics professor?

Good question, Bingham. Maybe this will be discussed at our first fall faculty meeting next Wednesday... ---SLC
I agree with Anne Marie and also 'anonymous' that Tim will be great...my only worry is that this position seems to be 'cursed' as so many recent folks to have it, then leave... (a la the Harry Potter "defense against the dark arts" position...)
In all seriousness, Tim will be great for this position, I am VERY happy about it!

So many? Dean Stafford was there for years. Michael Battle is the only person I think of with a short tenure in that position.
