Thanks for the update.
As I read each of the "letters" from the candidates, the one question that came to mind is, are these two even applying to the same job? Dr. Markham is (check my publication here) and (read this article there), while the good Bishop is apparently the embodiment of leadership and management. Hmmmm. Interesting days to come.

I think you have put your finger on the pulse of something. There ARE different visions of what this job is! I would say that the next dean and president will need to navigate some minefields of projections and expectations in terms of what others (and he) understands the job to be. However, if these minefields are successfully navigated, there is great potential for good ministry and leadership to be done.
Also, your prediction of "interesting days" was spot on! The "good Bishop" was "apparently the embodiment of leadership and managment," but has decided to drop out of the process at the 11th hour.
