Iron Age Moabite Temple Discovered at Khirbat 'Ataroz

The finds at the temple include a four-legged animal god Hadad, as well as delicate circular clay vessels used in holy rites. The objects indicate the Moabites worshipped many deities and had a highly organized ritual use of temples. Some of the specifics about the temple are still vague, including its dating which is somewhere in the range of the 12th to the 6th century BCE.
