A Visit to the Ratner Museum
Above is the sculpture of Moses at the burning bush. I like the large horn extending up to Moses’ face from the bushes’ branches—the emphasis on the Word issuing forth from the flames. This sculpture nicely captures Deuteronomy’s distinctive vision of the mode of God’s presence to the faithful (cf. Deut 4:12).
Above is a sculpture depicting a scene from Isaac’s near sacrifice. It nicely captures the specific moment of Gen 22:7. Especially striking to me are the two expressions on the two faces of son and father.
