We had a great turnout for our lunch today with the Rev. Joseph Garang Atem, principal of Renk College, where we are currently supporting the teaching of biblical languages. Joseph filled us in on the current situation in Sudan and on some of their upcoming plans and needs at Renk College. He is hopeful about the upcoming teaching-group traveling to Renk on Dec. 26th. It is possible that within a month the current strictures on Americans traveling to Sudan may be eased.
At the lunch we also brainstormed about a way to get books and deliveries to Renk. We are going to explore shipping things to be held in Cairo, Egypt, where Joseph and others from Renk regularly travel.

I am delighted that returned teachers, prospective teachers, and friends of the Diocese of Renk and its Bible School could talk face-to-face with Principal Joseph Garang Atem.
